Knights in action Locally
Locally, the Knights of St Columba undertake various activities to provide support and assistance to the Community at large, families, the young and the Church. Such service can range from providing financial support for 'good causes' or sponsoring sporting activities for the youth. Knights give freely of their time and energy to enhance the spiritual well-being of the local community; distributing posters; erecting Christmas cribs in prominent places; organising seminars on social teaching; vocation exhibitions and adopting a moral stance on life issues. |
Those less fortunate in society, such as the disabled, those with learning difficulties, special needs and the homeless, also benefit from KSC action. Many Councils support such groups by providing help with transport and travel arrangements, accommodation, running 'soup kitchens' and offering advice to those in need.
